A BSc degree (four-year degree in) Midwifery gives access to the program. In all other cases an admission committee decides on this. Please contact us when you have questions about the requirements.
All the education is online, with the exception of the introductory week at the beginning of the academic year of enrollment. This introductory week is in September and takes place alternately at one of the partners: in Maastricht, Hannover (Hannover Medical School) or Laussanne (Haute Ecole SPECIALISEE de Suisse occidentale).
There are weekly online tutorials on pre-announced dates. The official language is English, which requires good speaking and writing skills. The assignments of the elective modules, offered in Maastricht, can be made in Dutch.
To attend the online education you need a modern computer with a fast internet connection, a web cam and a head phone.
You can create your own program what is based on your own interest. The program includes three core modules (starting module European health care systems and Midwifery Practice, Research module and the module Master's Thesis). The other modules are elective modules.
The master program consists 120 ECTS. One ECTS is equal to 25-28 study hours. Assuming a time investment of 20 hours a week, the average duration is about three years.
